128 - Sporks

Am I alone when I say I hate sporks?

I like the concept, it's quite clever. However, when I'm using it and thinking about it, I find myself hating how my fork is so curved, and how my spoon has thin slithers of plastic/metal missing from its smooth, beautiful concavity. I need the full set of utensils! I know my satisfaction with the meal is lowered by the sheer confusion roused by the evil spork!

Hey, they beat chopsticks! Especially for eating rice.

Better a spork than a snife. Then I'd really be confused.

I love sporks! Especially when eating chicken noodle or beef barley soup.

Love the comic :)

Yeah but I love sporks too! I think they're great. I agree a Spnife would be just plain silly but a spork...next best thing to sliced bread :)

Bella.

That cartoon is AWESOME. I don't mind the spork, but I hate the word "spork". It's a horrible word. I'd rather say "foon" than "spork".

Douglas: I mastered chopsticks at the age of 3. Not to me, my friend. Sporks are evil!

Madame DeFarge: A 'spork' is also called a 'runcible spoon'. Interesting, isn't it?

J.J.: I usually find myself digging into mashed potatoes with a spork.

Bella: There are knorks, spifes, and splayds (a combination of fork, spoon and knife).

Sarah: About the splayd, I'm afraid of the knife being combined with anything. It's dangerous, you might cut your tongue...

Anita Helena: Glad to hear it. :D

Cat: I concur.

A spork is a fork and spoon on the same side, while a foon is a fork and spoon on opposite sides of the utensil.

Sporks are the utensil of satan, meant to make the populace lazy and powerless against the marauding hordes that will come to destroy us all. Rise above the lethargy, take up your spoon and fork and deny the vile, despicable device that is the spork.
