93 - Dirty, disgusting hardware

I'm in a very moody state right now, but I have no idea why. My hair is sort of messy as I've been in bed all day, my back feels like being curved today because I'm too lazy to sit up straight, my whole body feels tired, I'm hungry but not really bothered to go out to the kitchen, my hands and feet are cold but sweaty, my neck aches when I bend it like this and I could really use some company. I really feel like going out right now.

Argh, yuck. I grabbed my mouse just now and there's this grayish grime that's been building up on the left and right clickers. I'm just going to get a tissue to wipe it off... (that's what she said)

It's disgusting how hands sweat so much on keyboards, mouses, phones, game console controllers, iPods, and the like. I hate how keyboards accumulate the greatest mass and variety of filth, everything from hair, through dust, fingernails, staples, ketchup, dandruff and bread crumbs, to tiny paper circles that were punched out with a hole puncher. In my experience, the worst thing to enter the crevices between your keys are just liquids in general, such as tea, water, Coca Cola or coffee. The beverage, together with the other stuff, forms this sticky, yellowish guck, which is just horrible to look at, and unappealing to clean.

What's worse is that time when you come around to cleaning the back of your desktop computer, or to clean the filter in your laptop... Yuck. How dirty and gross is your hardware?

You really don't need to know.

With kids putting their sticky fingers on the keyboard, it's gross.

Good thing they haven't spilled anything on the keyboard or laptop.

I have crumbs in my keyboard and I'm really considering using a leaf blower on it.

The solution is quite simple.

If your lazy butt would allow you to, clean it frequently.

Random post, but it served to entertain me.

Take care.

I think you should cover your keyboard in saran wrap. It comes is designer colors and everyone will think you are OCD and offer you hand sanitizer and the phone number to their shrink.

LOL Chris...

Funny post, I agree! My keyboard here at work today is so disgusting (I always eat my lunch at my desk).

It's my own fault. I'm a messy eater.

It's my software that is dirty.

Every time my man wants to use my keyboard, he asks, "Where's the air?" (meaning Dust-Off). Then he spends the next 10 minutes spraying the numbers off the keys.

I probably have the cleanest keyboard in America!

Haha! My verification word is 'sheeze'. lol!

My laptop is surprisingly clean, because sometimes I pop the keys out of the keyboard to clean those icky crevices.

新年快乐!

I'm using a white lap top... so, it's really look dirty when i don't clean it up...

yeah.. the worst part is the dirt between Alphabet key on this keyboard... i used to try a little vacuum to suck all out... but it was useless... the best way i had found is, using a small size painting brush...

LOL.......

Lift up the keyboard, turn it upside down and tap it lightly on the tabletop. I hate sticky keyboards and mouse, so will wipe them before I start my work.

Hehe. I'm feeling you! Right now it is over 43 degrees calcius! I am boiling, sweating and feeling disgusting at the computer right now!

Douglas: *cough*

Marcy: My baby cousin nearly drooled on mine. Freaked me out.

Dr Zibbs: Vacuum cleaner, hairdryer could work, too.

Broken Wings: My laptop's still pretty clean, I've been less lazy these past few years.

Chris O: Now, that's extreme and too OC for me.

Tiffany Madden: I found lettuce in my old keyboard a few years ago. Ick.

KMcJoseph: Well, that's up to you to clean...

J.J.: Oh, I hate it when the characters and symbols wear off the keyboard. It's a little cleaner than you want it to get.

Zobot: My laptop's still new but I'll have to clean it soon. Good to know it's possible to keep it clean.

Ursley Devar: Interesting.

Everyday Housewife: I do that. How else do you think I know what's in there?

Liz Sedai: Technology and hot weather do not go together.

Michael,

Being a touch-typist, the letters/numbers wearing off doesn't bother me too much. lol!

I'm a clean person. I hate getting close to dirty stuffs. And I absolutely hate my sisters for being sloths and unmindful of their dirty fingers. My mom has already told us not to eat on the computer but they still do. They carelessly drop crumbs of cake on the keyboard and they don't wash their hands after licking the icings that remain on their fingers. Gross! And to think, their girls. Yuck.

When my keyboard gets clogged, principally coffee, but an assortment of beverages, wine, beer as well, the odd crumb of toast, cheese... the keys take an age to rise again and it seems like I'm typing in slow motion...

Time to get a new keyboard.

J.J.: Ah, it just bothers me because it's like... the keyboard is 'incomplete'. :(

Louise: I never lick my fingers unless it's the salt after eating fries. I'll admit to that, but anything sticky and sugary should not be licked. It's the consistency and adhesiveness that bothers me about sweet icing.

AV: LOL. Described beautifully, AV.
